How to raise funds for a pilot project? Help wanted.

I founded TRADING TIMES which was borne out of the ‘Living well with dementia’ Design Challenge (Design Council & Department of Health). This innovative new service won the design competition and was awarded grant funding to develop a working prototype. The prototype was designed and developed in close collaboration with carers and employers and was unveiled by the Care Services Minister, Paul Burstow, in April this year.

Trading Times is a web-based service that helps family carers find flexible paid work opportunities - by matching the skills and availability of carers with the resource needs of local businesses and residents. The Trading Times service and user interface was designed iteratively with carers and employers as a rich and supportive environment that helps carers find packages of work that can be delivered on a time- and location-flexible basis. The design emphasis is on striking the right balance between the employers’ requirement for a credible professional service and the carer’s need for guidance, encouragement and support.

We are now working with Carers UK, Carers Trust, Jobcentre Plus Barnet and Barnet Council to deliver a demonstrator pilot project in Barnet that will enable us to beta test the core functional Trading times service and validate the business/revenue models. I am looking for grant/ equity funding to help fund the demonstrator project.

All help & ideas welcome.
