Social Network for RSA Fellows

Looking for collaborators to come exploring

One of the reasons that I applied to be a Fellow was the prospect of being able to engage and collaborate with peers on issues and projects that we agreed were worthwhile and had potential to contrbute to civic society.  So far, I've found it hard to take this forward, and I'm finding that it's harder for Fellows who live outside London to network so easily. So it could be easier if we could explore ways of doing this virtually.

So I'm putting a call out to any Fellow who could be interested in joining me on an exploration of possibilities to look at how we can collaborate as peers and with the RSA to contribute something back - all high minded words for looking at how we can get together and take something forward with the framework of the RSA Fellowship.

My own interests are in literacy, mental health, social responsibility and education and I'm open to other ideas.

Thanks for posting this Linda. I've just rejoined RSA after a gap of 18 months, and find there's more encouragement than previously for Fellows to take a lead in activities ... but still some difficulties in finding the best routes.

There's been discussion on Linkedin, and now across on this site, about how improvements might be achieved online. I've got some idea, but let's see if others will join us. There's quite a history of attempts, as you see from the link.

Linda, as a newcomer I joined expecting to see many opportunities to contribute but as yet have not really found this easy either. Now it is probably harder for me as I live outside London - really outside London - in Washington state, US, but I am Brit with a home in the UK too where I spend much of my time.

I'm in discussion with Don Pinchbeck, David Wilcox and others about how we can improve communication and participation in the RSA digital engagement forum http://rsafellowship.com/group/digitalengagement/forum/topics/a-ram... . If you haven't found this yet, then please join in.

All that aside I am eager to get involved in any social community project.

Thanks.  I'm encountering the same kinds of issues as you are. David Wilcox and I've been talking and this is what has prompted me to open a discussion here to see whether we can explore ways of moving forward with some possible ideas in a virtual way.    Let's see if anyone else is interested and take it from there.
