RSA Fellowship Social Network

Social Network for RSA Fellows

Hi folks, I'm looking at fun ways to present the range of RSA Projects, FRSA networks and Fellows own websites. This is part of a series of experiments we'll be trying on the RSAde group over the coming months.

Please join in by telling me what you like, or don't like about the Pearltrees visualisation shown below. I'd like to know about any other sites you think should be added (and why), comments about the layout, tips about other services and so on.

The RSAde working group will be testing different ideas about how we might design the future of our social networks and 'digital ecosystem' over the coming months. We value the contributions of all of you who have signed up to this ning group in support of a digitally engaged Fellowship.

Thanks in advance,

Roxanne

Thank you, I look forward to seeing what you come up with. And yes, I now have climate envy :)

Happy to throw together an RSA based example of Debategraph but off to sunny climes for a week so will pick it up when I get back - jealous? I should jolly well hope so :-)

Thanks Roxanne for starting this thread. Great discussion!

I like Peartrees concept: really useful to be able to map the RSAde ecosystem. Storify is also great - and end results look beautiful (we should have done one for the AGM -let's look out for the next big event). Very much looking forward to Matthew's Dipity timeline...

Personally, the tool I really want to see is something to simplify/ signpost fellows through the myriad of digital stuff we have online. But suspect this may not be a tool so much as a wholesale redesign of the RSA website (ahem), or possibly a whole new platform!

Hi David

I love your videos, even though I'm not a tweetdeck user ;-) Not sure where they sit on the Pearltree, wondering if I should  start another branch with Fellow-produced social media guides? Hmmm...

In the mean time, Miss Brodie should find a good home in the forthcoming guidance being prepared by Matthew Kálmán Mezey.  Might also be worth posting them - and a link to the blog - in the twitter group.

I thought I'd upload my Twitter Trilogy here, if that's all right. There might be another suitable home for Miss Brodie's Adventures in Twitterland. But she might be permitted a rest here for now ... The LSE has asked for a blog post about the use of the films to engage the wider RSA, so it would be useful t have some comments from Fellows who have viewed Miss Brodie's journey and found it useful. Hope to hear from Fellows soon. And thank you (and Roxanne) in advance :)

Hi Roxanne,

David's Twitter videos are already referenced on that RSA online communities guidance page that I'm working on... with help from many RSAde'ers :-)

Hi Paul. I've just noticed that David Price, co-founder of Debategraph is a Fellow.  I've invited him to join this conversation :)

David has taken up the challenge and from my simple start he has produced an excellent Debategraph versionof the Pearltrees diagram. Which works best? I think I am right is saying that Debategraph is for just that; debating ideas so on the one hand it is a dynamic way to explore the relationships between the different elements of RSA online but I'm curious to know whether people feel it achieves the objective of showing the range of online activity in the way that Roxanne originally set out? Or is there yet another way? Looking forward to people's views.

I like it a lot, A good map, but I couldn't click through to the websites (might be my ignorance). I couldn't find an easy way to embed the Debategraph on this thread, I think Ning won't accept the flash code.  Thanks David and Paul :)

I wonder how the Pearltrees and Debategraph visualisations help Fellows to navigate the RSA 'digital ecosystem'. Are there other similar services  people have used?  I'd love to see a comprehensive list of sites - including Fellows personal or project sites - maintained and presented nicely on this network.

Over to the group for your comments please!

Review of RSA Fellowship nings, social networks

Over the next few months the RSAde Group will be consolidating regional social networks and nings. The aim will be to improve connectivity for Fellows, improve communication and reduce fragmentation.

Therefore there will be an increase of regional and thematic groups over the next few months.

If you would like further information on these changes please contact the RSAde team via the Digital Engagement group on this network.

The Power of Vulnerability

Influential author and speaker Dr Brené Brown tackles the myth that vulnerability is a weakness. Instead, she argues, it is the clearest path to courage and meaningful connection, and has the power to transform the way we engage and educate.

NHS at 65: rejuvenate or retire?

The NHS turns 65 this year at a time of significant change and unprecedented financial challenge. The RSA and the Nuffield Trust bring together panel of influential thinkers from the health sector and beyond to debate whether it is time for the NHS to be retired off or whether there is scope for reinvention.
