The #RSAde Group's priority objective is to ensure that FRSA communications (including networking and collaboration) are maximised through digital and social media. As part of its remit, the group tests and develops tools, techniques and incentives to enable Fellows and Staff to engage effectively online. Comment by Jemima Gibbons on August 14, 2012 at 12:16 Just to let everyone know, I've started a new topic in the general forum about the London online hustings pilot - including a summary of RSAde's five recommendations and a link to my report. If anyone wishes to comment, please do so on the general forum.
Comment by Ndidi Okezie on August 6, 2012 at 12:46 Hi Charlotte
Thanks for the information.
Ahh sad to hear I've missed out on the council opportunity. I am an engagement strategist and as such this space is one that I am very interested in developing as a fellow.
Look forward to things kicking off again and hopefully I will be able to contribute still.

Comment by Charlotte Britton on August 6, 2012 at 11:26 Hi Ndidi, welcome to the DE group. We're having a bit of summer break right now, but will be back full swing at the end of August.
A few of us have a Skype call once every 6 weeks, with a focus on how we can get more digitally engaged with fellows. With the recent elections to Fellowship council, I'm sure there's going to be a renewed focus on this group.
In the meantime, tell us more about what you want to get involved in :)
Comment by Ndidi Okezie on August 6, 2012 at 11:22 Hi all
New Member here:
I would love to know how I can get involved in this please.
Very passionate about this area of work.
Thanks
Ndidi
Interesting slides from online communities expert Steve Dale, and discussion, about social media trends. Steve suggests the future is personal, mobile and appified http://bit.ly/N1th6m We agree that curation and connecting across networks will be at least as important as specific technologies. What do you think?
I've just posted an update on Next steps for a networked RSA in the forum, suggesting our excellent newly-elected and digitally-engaged councillors might help move things forward.

Comment by Jonathan Jewell on July 14, 2012 at 13:06 I hope people don't mind me posting here, but I'd really appreciate it if you could do this online experiment (being run through University College, London - UCL) and share it widely.
It's not spam (honest) - just look at the accuracy of my spelling and absence of pharmaceutical offers! Here it is:
Clinician or otherwise, this simple reasoning study will help shape the future of medicine by helping us to understand how people operate in resource constrained situations.
The experiment will take less than 10 minutes and your responses will be anonymous.
I'd be really grateful if you can offer your support in doing the experiment and in sharing it with your contacts so I can get appropriate numbers for analysis.
If you are keen to hear the outcome, I can send you a copy of the study on request.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Best wishes,
Jonathan
Thanks Jemima - those documents are really useful. As you indicate, things have moved on a bit, with more discussion of the complexity of the nature of the Fellowship, uncertainties about what is on offer, and expectations of different Fellows within that. These need to frame any technology planning.
How do we mesh ideas about an exploration and workshops, with the DE terms of reference, the DE vision, and whatever work is being done in house? I sense that Ed and others may be interested in forming a group that promotes a design approach going beyond the technology.
Would it be appropriate to review things once the elections are over, and we know who will be on Council? The FC linkage is clearly important for an initiative.
Comment by Jemima Gibbons on July 9, 2012 at 10:49 I think by "vision", Charlotte means the tech requirements RSAde edited collaboratively and delivered to Carol Jackson and Clive Holdsworth in December 2011, RSAde Fellowship Requirements for New Platform. Clearly this document has been overtaken by events as it does not seem there will be a "new platform" as such, but we felt it necessary at the time to pro-actively make our voice heard, in case of any (perish the thought) decisions being made without Fellow input. There are also the RSAde Terms of Reference, as approved by The Fellowship Council February 2012.
@Ed one idea on moving this beyond the elections, developed by some DE people a month or so back, is for a more structured exploration leading up to a workshop or workshops in the autumn.
One formulation is here - but it doesn't have to be tagged OpenRSA
http://openrsa.wikispaces.com/Workshops
We have some staff interest, because it could help frame the technology strategy work.
Should we turn this into a project and look for a core group to take it forward?
Over the next few months the RSAde Group will be consolidating regional social networks and nings.
The aim will be to improve connectivity for Fellows, improve communication and reduce fragmentation.
If you would like further information on these changes please contact the RSAde team via the Digital Engagement group on this network.
