Just posted a forum topic on why I suggest we move development discussions from this site across to Linkedin, and do any public engagement through social networks and blogs. http://bit.ly/UKrkPT
Lively discussion on the Linkedin discussion about Fellowship http://linkd.in/WOjTFh of our tech platform needs. Can anyone from the core DE group update one where things are with the tech board scoping?
Is anyone here interested in helping me, John Oakley and Paul Nash work with Matthew Mezey to lead and facilitate discussion in the 2300-strong RSA Linkedin group? It is proving a lot easier to engage Fellows there. For example, 26 of us developed 150 comments in a discussion about RSA mission that yielded a document that became part of the Board awayday discussion yesterday. http://bit.ly/ZD29nM (open doc)
We are currently talking about our vision for the future of the Fellowship, with some really positive ideas including a communication and innovation hub for Fellowship.
It's an experiment in how Fellows can help digitally at national as well as regional level.
Either way, I hope you'll join the discussion http://linkd.in/U13bFy (login needed)
My email is david@socialreporter.com
I've just posted an item about issues for today's technology board, where I believe there will be discussion of a new Fellowship comms platform. http://bit.ly/V1AcT1
My concerns: should there be one platform for staff and Fellows rather than several; we need a comms plan before a tech plan; interim arrangements need more thought.
I've posted a forum topic about Helping the Board and Fellowship Council engage with Fellows http://bit.ly/UWU5p9
Tweets #frsa today suggest Charlotte did a great job at Fellowship Council getting digital strategy and champions top of the agenda! Thanks Roxanne, Bill, Ed and others for keeping us in touch.
If you are interested in regional communications to support the new development plans and teams, you might like to join this exploration I've started on an open doc http://bit.ly/YEavY3
If you are interested in what digital technology can offer us in facing the challenges (and opportunities) of later life, you might like to join this exploration I'm running for the Nominet Trust http://bit.ly/PSGduN. There's free workshop at RSA on the morning fo October 23 http://bit.ly/RfMke4 Hope to see some of you there!
Comment by Charlotte Britton on August 29, 2012 at 15:29 Certainly is worth exploring. From talking to the team at The RSA, this is something on their agenda as well. So collaborating on this makes a lot of sense.
Could the RSA become - in part - a Free University for Fellows? I've thrown up that idea in the latest update on making RSA a more fully networked organisation. Thanks to Nick Wilding of Carnegie UK Trust for the suggestion. Worth exploring?
Over the next few months the RSAde Group will be consolidating regional social networks and nings.
The aim will be to improve connectivity for Fellows, improve communication and reduce fragmentation.
If you would like further information on these changes please contact the RSAde team via the Digital Engagement group on this network.
