Welcome and update
LB updated the group on the purpose of the Fellowship Charter and the development work done to date

Main issues
1. Redrafting the next version taking into account current feedback and the 21CE speech
•    Discussion around linking language and messaging with development of Matthew Taylor’s 21CE speech and pamphlet
•    Plan to work with Ben and MT to embody the Fellowship Charter as a practical means to achieving the aims
•    Redraft taking feedback into account by 26 May (Laura and Ned, with Jacqui and Andrew)
•    Redraft with explanation on main website and in Fellowship newsletter 3 June
•    Meeting with Ben and MT to work out links and agree mentions in speech / pamphlet / blog as appropriate

2. Developing the ‘how to’ guides and case studies alongside the Fellowship Charter text
•    Update on importance of this section – means to achieving the aims, supporting Fellows to get the most of being a Fellow
•    First envisaged as possible printed document / booklet
o    Issue: likely to go out of date very quickly
o    Issue: budget
•    Discussion around making the ‘offer’ clearer through the website and the Journal – clear list of opportunities, linked to structure of Fellowship Charter, more easily updated (Laura and Ned, with Sarah and Networks)
•    Including case studies and examples – some already in place, can gather more

3. Ensuring an equal level of understanding by staff and Fellows of the purpose of the Fellowship Charter
•    All staff meeting presentation booked 18 May to update staff
•    Continue face to face meetings with Fellows at networks and committee meetings
•    Newsletter article 10 May linked to website updates
•    Newsletter article 7 June linked to new draft on website
•    Link through MT blog
•    June Journal news update – Fellowship Council first big project, peer developed with Fellow consultation, way to drive and support development of Fellowship, explain plan behind Fellowship Charter and guides, link to website pages to find out more

Laura

Thanks for speedy and clear notes of our meeting. What it doesn't make clear was the decision made about some exact wording, which should mean that there is no further need for the debate about paid work that might emanate from involvement from the RSA. It might be worth posting about that in a wee bit more detail.

jackie (oh, and my name is misspelt but I can live with that!)
