RSA Fellowship Charter

“Undertakings for the Publick Good”
The RSA has always sought to identify and spread good ideas, to increase human capability and to enable people to work together to develop a better future and live fulfilled lives.

“Circulation of most useful and Beneficial Knowledge”
The RSA Fellowship is an influential group of people which - knowing that as a diverse network we are greater than the sum of our parts - works together to improve the prospects of our communities and the lives of our fellow citizens.

“Members from all ranks, professions and trades”
RSA Fellows are committed, talented, public-spirited individuals, who lead by example.

“Ingenuity and extensive Publick-Spirited Benevolence”
Following on from our founding principles and over 250 years of work, this Charter reaffirms our joint mission and shared values, and recognises that we will only achieve our aims if we work together.

We aim to inspire by sharing and promoting new thinking and ideas, to support by fostering a connected Fellowship community, and to enable people to deliver change through access to practical tools and skills.

“exertions of individuals for the general advantage of the community”
In order to achieve this, we commit to working collaboratively and practically to make a positive difference to the world around us. We will be open to new ideas and committed to spreading the best of them. We will be supportive of others and respectful of differences. We will be honest, courteous and transparent in our working methods. We will be generous with our time and abilities not seeking personal or financial gain and measuring our success by the impact that we have not the recognition we receive.

“We whose names are underwritten”
I am signing up to this Charter to confirm my support of the aspirations and values of the RSA and to recognise my role as a Fellow in achieving these aims.
