Scott Baron
I am delighted to join and lend my support.
I can claim to be something of an expert on the subject of "failure".
Although I have several University degrees and 4 fellowships, I was an 11 plus failure.

During 1992 to 1996 I completed a higher reseach Masters Degree in Education at the Manchester Metropolitan University and the title of my disertation (that is in MMU LIbrary) is "From Failure to Success".

Happy to assist.

Sounds like you'd be a great addition to the team, with insights into crucible moments and failure in learning.

We're trying hard to be able to gather contributions from Fellows all over - we have a project wiki and an imminent blog. Please get in touch with me or Jonathan to be added to the email list of wiki site.
The MMU MA 1996 Disertation that I referred to - researched and reported cases as a member of staff working in residential schools for young people with "Special Educational Needs" (SEN).

For the past 7 years and currently, I have worked as an unpaid international volunteer at grass roots level with disadvantaged groups eg elderly, diabled, homeless etc etc in NW of England and Central Japan. Many participants have experienced feelings "Failure" in life.

If my knowledge and or experience can be of use in any way, I shall be delighted to assist.
Scott, this is absolutely brilliant! I hope that our 'lurkers' out there will also come forward with their experience and skills.

I will dedicate a special thread on discussion to setting up a structured skills audit to help elicit this.

In the meantime, do you have an abstract for your work on failure you can post here, or if it's a bit technical, maybe a summary of it.

And what pathway brought you to do a paper of this kind?

Is anyone else up to any research? We're looking at how we best collect and use this kind of stuff: perhaps people have suggestions?
