The organising of the successful London Olympics didn’t rely on only a single ‘elegant’ approach, but instead offered us an inspiring and vivid example of a multi-faceted, or ‘clumsy’, approach – so…Continue

Values and organisational transformation - lessons from a real-world project in India, with Sara Wolcott - London Integral Circle salon, 30th May

We have a really interesting salon planned for next Wednesday, at the EnlightenNext Centre in London. The focus is on a recent pioneering project in India - that combined inner and outer change.

Our speaker - Sara Wolcott - also made use of the respected Hall-Tonna developmental assessment tool (of 125 values and 8 developmental stages) during the project. The colourful developmental `Values maps' on this page (of the RSA's mission, and Matthew Taylor's '21st Century Enlightenment'): http://bit.ly/9WiMDQ will give you some idea about this model - which draws on Kohlberg, Maslow, Jung, Gilligan and even Wilber. (Richard Barrett's approach is also based on this model).

Beyond the project in Chennai itself, Sara plans to lead a larger discussion about the underlying questions about how 'development' really occurs, the relationship between agency and institutional structures, and strategies to use learning and evaluation procedures to encourage the societal development we are seeking.

It should be a fascinating discussion.

If you want fuller information, please let me know: matthew.mezey@rsa.org.uk please RSVP if you want to come along. (NB This is not an RSA event - that at least a couple of attendees are Fellows).
