Comment by Jeff Mowatt on May 29, 2011 at 8:21 Pascale, It seems to be a word which has many levels of interpretation. The one I focus on is the social justice of those disenfranchised and considered disposable. In a blog, I try to convey the Ethics of People-Centered Economics
In 2009 when Karen Armstrong launched the Charter for Compassion which is based on the Golden rule of reciprocity, it had struck me that this argument for people not to be considered disposable was congruent with this advocacy, so we became partners of the charter
You may observe the social justice theme in the advocacy that follows, particularly the case of Death Camps, For Children
Comment by Pascale Scheurer on May 13, 2011 at 16:49 Can anyone point me in the direction of a solid definition of 'Ethical Business' or 'Ethical Lifestyle' please?
There are so many different ways to measure one's carbon footprint (all different of course), I wonder if there is something similar that takes in social justice issues too. Grateful for any leads on this.

Comment by Pascale Scheurer on May 13, 2011 at 13:31 Hi Dan
Thanks for posting this. I'd be very interested, having just sold up out of my previous business and in process of setting up an ethical startup. I'll have a look at the website right now.
Cheers, Pascale Scheurer FRSA
Hi everyone,
Just a quick note to mention UnLtd's new funding and support programme: the Big Venture Challenge. We're looking for England's 25 most ambitious social entrepreneurs - looking to rapidly scale up their venture and take on external investment. We're offering intensive business support over 3 years and up to £175k in grant-funding.
Visit the website and/or contact me if you'd like to find out more...

Comment by Pascale Scheurer on February 25, 2011 at 16:15 Hi Kim
I've replied by email as you've probably seen. Just to say that yes I would love to stay involved with PwP (and perhaps to debate the issue with someone from Shell) - always keen to engage in debate with people with other viewpoints, and always open for persuasion...
Difficult choices for all.
Best regards, Pascale
Comment by Kim van Niekerk on February 25, 2011 at 15:51 Hi Pascale,
Thank you for your thoughts on the event and I hope we will get the chance to meet in the near future.
It is why we decided that the role of this Network was to be inclusive to all businesses, to provide a safe space for them to share their concerns about their challenges and to dive into the creative skill of the RSA's Fellowship to help them develop solutions to the social and environmental issues that they face.
For this reason we made a clear choice that we would not take the role of a campaigning network. There are superb bodies out there already doing this. Instead, we hope to attract all companies (of the best and worst reputations) to become sponsors and participants with the ambition of helping them along the journey towards making profit and simultaneously achieving a greater social and environmental purpose.
I do hope the network will get to benefit from your involvement, but understand it is not for everyone.
Best wishes,
Kim
Over the next few months the RSAde Group will be consolidating regional social networks and nings.
The aim will be to improve connectivity for Fellows, improve communication and reduce fragmentation.
If you would like further information on these changes please contact the RSAde team via the Digital Engagement group on this network.
