Social Network for RSA Fellows

A New View of Society?

You might wonder why I have put a picture of Robert Owen's New Lanark settlement for the profile picture (sorry it is so bad, I struggled to get it on the site because of limitations of the profile tool).

Well I was thinking, and only loose thinking, that maybe New Lanark (see the web link above for more information) is a kind of ahead-of-its-time microcosm of how manufactures might be integrated into the vision of the RSA for the future.

I would like to see the group  develop too and the recent meeting  in London at the Coachmakers was exciting. Ithink the idea of premiums and engagaing the   short listed Young Designers is crucial. I have spoken to a few of the  past young designer winners and they seem to  have 'stalled'.

Matching up  UK design  - and  UK  manufucturing is cool and exciting.
