Do you have a relative living in a care home or receiving care at home? The RSA catalyst-funded website www.ratemy-care.com is now LIVE so please do post reviews and encourage friends and relatives to visit the site. We also provide free information about care services and paying for care.

Hello All

I am developing projects that address care for the elderly and vulnerable adults in the home, affordable housing and reuse of traditional buildings. I happen to be popping in to London tomorrow (Fri 20th July 2012) and shall be happy to meet up with anyone who has similar goals. My mobile is 07948448625, do call if you would like a drink and a discussion at RSA House.

My book "How to make a million jobs - A charter for Social Enterprise" is about finished but the real challenge is to get the message to key policy makers.  I believe that social enterprise can make a tremendous difference to the issue of unemployment especially in deprived areas.  If you agree pls check out my crowd-fundng site.  Every little counts thank you

Just a reminder that voting for the Fellowship Council closes tomorrow (Friday 13th) at 5pm. If you haven't yet voted, you should have received an email from Electoral Reform Services (ERS) on 18th June 2012 with the web address and the two-part code needed to vote.  In the event that you can't find that email you'll need to contact ERS directly on onlinevoting@electoralreform.co.uk

I'm really keen to see an engaged, informed Fellowship and want participation in the elections to be as high as possible. However, as I am standing for election as an 'At Large' Councillor, I'd also appreciate your vote!  My particular interests lie in social enterprise, social impact and in supporting and developing the Catalyst fund.

Many thanks.

Please, please vote in the Chair elections to help make a difference. If you dont vote, we will get what we have always got. It is clear from the survey responses that Fellows want to be more connected and appropriately involved/ informed. Lets make this happen!

You can see my statement here : http://rsalondon.hustingo.com/regional-chair-candidate/barbara-ande...

To vote just follow the instructions in the email that you received on 18 June 2012 by ERS from the email address: TheRSAonlinevoting@electoralreform.co.uk
Thank you!
Barbara

Some Tory MPs and ministers genuinely back social enterprise, it's a shame the people running the spending departments don't feel the same: http://beanbagsandbullsh1t.com/2012/07/05/one-step-on-a-journey/

Don't forget that tomorrow night is the first quarterly event in the new series of the RSA's Social Enterprise Spotlight.

The theme of the evening is 'How social media can help your social enterprise'.  The event runs from 6.30pm - 9pm and is held at Central Working, 11 Bayley Street, WC1B 3HB.

It  will include advice and workshops from social entrepreneurs including:

  • an overview and debunking of social media myths by Rina Atienza from Synacapse
  • a Twitter master-class by Trudy Thompson from Bread and Bricks
  • a tour of the different social media platforms and some great examples by Eugenie Teasley from Spark+Mettle

There will also plenty of opportunity to meet, learn from and support other social entrepreneurs.

This event is fully booked, so if you signed up but are no longer able to come please contact Alice Dyke.  If you want to come but haven't reserved your space please get in touch.
