I have worked in the internet and digital marketing industries for the past 12 years with roles from senior project manager, Internet Shopping for ASDA in 1997 to managing the on-line strategies for Mercedes Benz, Alliance and Leicester, O2 and first direct

I was one of the founders of Pollenation Internet, an open source technology company and negotiated a final sale of the company in 2008. Since then I have set up a small consultancy which specialises in digital marketing strategies focusing on how companies can make the most of the social web.

I have previously been IoD Chairman West Yorkshire Branch, I'm a trustee at Yorkshire Dance and chair our local residents committee (battling with Leeds City Council on community access to our local green space). I am an 'At Large' Fellowship Council Member.

Hi Charlotte, It was good to meet you at the hub do in Sheffield last week. I have been thinking about your project and was going to suggest contacting Groundworks but I see you have already been advised to do that.
I know that one of the delegates last week suggested you held a festival on the site. There is an organisation in Sheffield called Green City Action who has just done that in a very deprived area of the city, It might be worth talking to them to get some advice, I think the difficulty will be raising funding to do something. However my experience has been that you can always do something providing you have lots of local support and enthusiasm. Very Best of luck Caroline Veal
