Profile Information

Profile information
I started as the Director of Projects here at the RSA in October 2009. Before that I worked in qualitative social, political and commercial research for a big agency. I've done research on all manner of topics, and for all sorts of organisations over the last ten years. I loved the diversity, and the topics were always fascinating, but ultimately what made it frustrating was that I couldn't decide what was done with all that work: i.e. how it was translated into action. That's why I'm excited to be at the RSA. I hope that the work we do through our projects will directly improve people's lives.

Projects & 21st century enlightenment: requesting feedback

I recently posted a piece on RSA Comment to explain how RSA projects connect with the notion of 21st century enlightenment. It's obviously just a first step as this purpose idea takes root more deeply in our ways of thinking and working, so I would be very interested to hear your full and frank feedback.

The piece is here, so please feel free to leave a comment underneath, or if you prefer it… Continue

Projects & Fellows

Hello all,

I've been meaning to dive into the discussions on this Ning site for some time now, and was given the nudge I needed by Tessy and Paul's visit to John Adam Street today. We had a good discussion when they met the Executive team, and then they gave an inspiring, funny and thought-provoking presentation to all the RSA staff gathered in the DSA.

We in the Projects team are keen to work more collaboratively and effectively with Fellows, in whatever ways will help us pursue… Continue

Review of RSA Fellowship nings, social networks

Over the next few months the RSAde Group will be consolidating regional social networks and nings.

The aim will be to improve connectivity for Fellows, improve communication and reduce fragmentation.

If you would like further information on these changes please contact the RSAde team via the Digital Engagement group on this network.

The Power of Vulnerability

Influential author and speaker Dr Brené Brown tackles the myth that vulnerability is a weakness. Instead, she argues, it is the clearest path to courage and meaningful connection, and has the power to transform the way we engage and educate.

Leading Change

With many of us facing an ever greater pace of change in our personal and working lives, leadership adviser and educator Richard Gerver reveals how to adapt and thrive - not to fear change but to see it as an opportunity for creative reinvention

From the digital divide to inclusive innovation: the case of digital money

To mark the launch of a new RSA pamphlet, we bring together an expert panel to discuss the growing use of digital money worldwide, highlight its potential and consider the issues that will facilitate or hamper its reach.
