Profile information
Professor Matthew Steven Carlos, FRSA specialises in Knowledge Architecture, and Ethics with further experience in Community Regeneration, Media & Communication, and Fine Art. His current interest is redesigning civic institutions and infrastructure, particularly academies, libraries, and other Knowledge facilities.
Over the last fifteen years, Matthew has founded two institutes, four companies, and a foundation, as well as participated in the start-up of several social-benefit organisations, including One Laptop Per Child. He is currently Professor and UK Director for Satellite Education and Research at the Europaische Universitat fur Interdisziplinare Studien, Trustee of the Sobota Foundation, and associated with the Centre for Health, Law and Emerging Technology at the University of Oxford. 

Matthew has advised national and regional governments, international coalition projects, private sector companies, and non-governmental organisations around the world, most commonly in the areas of Knowledge infrastructure development, digital cultural heritage preservation, and the role of knowledge in emerging economies.
