Morice Mendoza replied to Julian Thompson's discussion 'Priorities for the Projects' Network' in the group Projects
"Personally, I think the most crucial area to investigate is how to renew the UK economy. I would have thought Fellows would have a broad range of experience and ideas to contribute on how to encourage enterprise, transforming the UK economy into one…"

Morice Mendoza commented on Olivia Rainford's group 'Focus on: Women'
"As my old boss (Avivah Wittenberg-Cox) used to say, you need to get the guys behind the issue, ie., they need to see why it is a priority issue for the organisation as a whole. This is a tough one to crack as I know from 2 years editing and…"

"As someone who used to edit the Journal I was always against being forced to comply with some sort of quota. However, I have written an article about a Swedish business newspaper which did just that in order to make the publication more appealing to…"

"Any ideas as to why RSA is not attracting and KEEPING more women? Some of this must be in the way its brand comes across and the way it frames its marketing material and so on. Other could be to do with level of busyness --- women, perhaps juggling…"

I am interested in this group having worked as an editor for 20-first, a consultancy that sought for ways to modernise organisations so they don't lose senior women and are better at marketing to women. The whole thing was addressed as a business issue - get better at that and you are likely to make more money and have more talented leadership teams. Problem is though there is a lot of talk on all this but very SLOW change. That is not to say it is not worth discussing or pushing for change --- it just a matter of working out how to change the conversation so all top business leaders are engaged (not just some of the female ones!!). Also, how to maintain interest in all this in business circles during and immediately after a recession is another challenge!!

Review of RSA Fellowship nings, social networks

Over the next few months the RSAde Group will be consolidating regional social networks and nings.

The aim will be to improve connectivity for Fellows, improve communication and reduce fragmentation.

If you would like further information on these changes please contact the RSAde team via the Digital Engagement group on this network.
