Peter Cook replied to Dr Graham Wilson's discussion 'How does your business grow?' in the group Fellows in Business
"Indeed, social is just part of the marketing mix.  However, it is an increasingly important part of that mix.   Most marketing simply creates awareness and desire.  Without some human connection, that is about as far as it goes.…"

A night at the opera

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIckOlzieo4I spent a night at the opera recently, when we went to see Rusalka, by Dvorak.  In brief Rusalka develops the fairy story of a mermaid, who longs to leave her underwater kingdom.  She falls in love with a handsome prince but must pay the price of losing her voice.  Of course the opera ends in tragedy.   Sounds innocent enough?  Well, Daily Telegraph readers were outraged due to the modern…See More

The Value of Social Networking in fulfilling a goal

I was recently asked by BBC Radio 4 's You and Yours about how social networking can produce results, bearing in mind that this artform also doubles as a 'favourite waste of time' for some people.  I was drawn towards two examples, one hugely successful, the other a comedy of errors which ended in glorious failure.  My story today concerns the positive example of how we created an online social movement to sell out a concert for the reclusive rock star Bill Nelson, leader of 70's pop art groups…See More

Fellows in Business

This group is intended for Fellows who are business people engaged in commerce. You don't have to be an entrepreneur, have a social purpose, or even be profitable.Once a few people sign up we can discuss what the group might want to do and how it might do that.Remember: engaging in discussions online is important.  It helps people to get to know you, and to decide whether they like you.  This is crucial before they can trust you and so recommend you to their own precious networks.  Even if you…See More

Review of RSA Fellowship nings, social networks

Over the next few months the RSAde Group will be consolidating regional social networks and nings. The aim will be to improve connectivity for Fellows, improve communication and reduce fragmentation.

Therefore there will be an increase of regional and thematic groups over the next few months.

If you would like further information on these changes please contact the RSAde team via the Digital Engagement group on this network.
