Stephen Elliott-Hunter replied to Tessy Britton's discussion 'Physical Spaces for Fellows'
"One of the key elements producing value output from the RSA is communication and networking. Not just in the sense of collaborating on a specific issue, but the general value of thought generation and creativity. This has been mentioned in various…"

Stephen Elliott-Hunter commented on Tessy Britton's blog post 'What exactly is a *Project*?'
"The issue of relationships between the RSA, the Fellowship, the Trustees and the Fellowship Council is still key to all. This issue was reinforced as of signal importance when projects were discussed. It all seemed very RSA-centric, with not much…"

Sitting on the sideline (for a change!)

Some general thoughts - (though not really off-topic)Not normally much good at sitting on the sidelines, I have been watching (proper use of the word for online activity 'viewing'?), reading and been generally interested in the various outputs, outpourings and comments around this new space.Isn't language wonderful? 'This new space'; no it's not, it is merely a 'virtual somewhere' for people to share thoughts as it is not possible to physically sit down and 'mardle' (Norfolk dialect for chat)…See More

Congratulations!

Not a discussion really, but a vote of thanks and many congratulations for everyone at the inaugural meeting of the Fellowship Council.Good organisation and management by the RSA house team, an enthusing and enthusiastic Matthew, excellent participation and a great (though rather warm) environment, made for a really useful first meeting. If we can all keep up the initial enthusiasm, (often a dwindling resource), the RSA timeline may, in years to come, reflect this as a turning point in its great…See More

Stephen Elliott-Hunter replied to Stephen Coleman's discussion 'Communicating - with ourselves; with the wider world'

Sorry to sound like a technerdkilljoy, but do we need to find some way to categorise these discussions, or will we end up, as so many forums have done, just a never-ending list of discussions, many on roughly the same subject, but not linked? It is so easy to lose track and value. Can we drop them into areas such as; Communications, Networks, Projects etc. or ensure that we use 'tags' to help othersSee More

FC Draft terms of reference

So, let us kick off a discussion about TORs.The draft terms of reference have been made available so where do we go with it? Perhaps along the way, we can consider the wider issues of consultation, but let us start with this.Do the TORs go to members of the FC only for comment , out to the whole Fellowship for views within a fixed period, or some other arrangement? Who has to accept them?Do we need to form that splendid thing, a sub-group, to collate responses and make recommendations to the…See More
