After gaining an Honours Degree in English from St Johns College, Cambridge Steve worked for Procter and Gamble, and United Biscuits where between 1986 and 1991 he was Export Sales and Marketing Director leading a team generating over £50m of sales per annum. In 1999 Steve was invited to set up and lead the School Governors’ One-Stop Shop. He has been Chief Executive of the Charity since that time, leading it from a pilot initiative to a highly successful organization working throughout England. In 2012 SGOSS will secure a placement for its 14,000th governor volunteer. Steve is vice-chair of the England Volunteering Development Council; a member of the Education and Education Taskforce Partnership Board; a member the IOD Policy Voice Select Panel; a Member the DFE Advisory Group on Governance; a; a Companion of the Chartered Institute of Management; and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

The aim will be to improve connectivity for Fellows, improve communication and reduce fragmentation.
