How might new Fellows be better supported when they first join the RSA?

I'm a fairly new Fellow (please be gentle with me).

I was fortunate enough to attend an excellent New Fellows event a bit more than a week ago, which has coincided with me shifting from being a pretty…

Why be an RSA Fellow - and how to make the most of it? Five bottles that may help understanding

Summary: there is no simple proposition for joining or staying with the RSA. To understand the potential we may need to think about our roles as consumers, donors, voters, challengers ... but most of all as creative collaborators.

I guess we all come across the headline question when it is time to renew ... or when…

Questions about the RSA upcoming elections?

Over the next few months there will be a number of opportunities for Fellows who would like to become more engaged on a voluntary basis in the way the RSA is run – and my colleague Brinda Sittapah, the RSA’s Governance Manager outlines what is happening and the opportunities available:

RSA NE held a very challenging event in Darlington on Tuesday 15th May exploring the topic of combating the sexual exploitation of children.  Wendy Shepherd, who is on the frontline of Barnardo's efforts in the region, shared her experiences of what is really happening under our noses with a very provocative call to action.

I've put together a Storify record of the event at…

Finishing Up

I’ve just stepped back from my role, volunteering to organise RSA Fellow’s events in Kent. I have carried out this work for around four years. I never particularly had a passion for such things but I have always felt the potential when Fellows get together.

I have helped coordinate events on subjects from the economy to the environment, talks from local people of merit and local organisations. I have helped set up talks, panel discussions,…

Review of RSA Fellowship nings, social networks

Over the next few months the RSAde Group will be consolidating regional social networks and nings. The aim will be to improve connectivity for Fellows, improve communication and reduce fragmentation.

Therefore there will be an increase of regional and thematic groups over the next few months.

If you would like further information on these changes please contact the RSAde team via the Digital Engagement group on this network.

The Power of Vulnerability

Influential author and speaker Dr Brené Brown tackles the myth that vulnerability is a weakness. Instead, she argues, it is the clearest path to courage and meaningful connection, and has the power to transform the way we engage and educate.

NHS at 65: rejuvenate or retire?

The NHS turns 65 this year at a time of significant change and unprecedented financial challenge. The RSA and the Nuffield Trust bring together panel of influential thinkers from the health sector and beyond to debate whether it is time for the NHS to be retired off or whether there is scope for reinvention.
