Henley is launching the world's first music industry focused MBA (one of the UK's great export success stories) that will focus on managing creativity, content, rights and how the creative industries respond to challenges and opportunities of new platforms, technologies and markets. Anyone who is interested in working in or supporting UK creative and content industries, will be interested to see this.
As an addition to the MBA, Henley will also conducting research into industry topics and establishing regular conferences and summits for the content business too ..
The issue for the industry is not that the UK no longer creates commercial music, nor that people do not want to listen to commercial music - the issue is the dramatic chance in technology and platforms that has so fundamentally challenged the revenue model and mechanics.
Its great to see the industry supporting Henley in helping to develop the next generation of business talent that can manage creative product, in challenging times. But how can the UK best maximise the commercial opportunities from the growing platforms and channels, when so much of the revenue is being sucked up by hardware, not software and content?
If anyone would like any further information re how the MBA is structured (plus availability to join the course or support it) - please contact me; andrew@benchstone.co.uk
Thanks
Andrew Armour
