I'm Charlotte Britton - Pleased to Meet You
You may well have received an email about the elections for the RSA Fellowship Council. I have been nominated as an 'at large' candidate. I would be delighted if you would vote for me to join the council. I have been involved as Branch Chairman West Yorkshire for the past few years, so I'm an experienced committee member.
I am also currently doing a Institute of Directors Post Grad Certificate in Company Direction. Which is all around the corporate governance, best practice of running companies. Which is a great foundation (if I'm elected) for supporting the council and it's objectives of supporting the fellowship.
Below is my candidate statement and here are the links to my online profiles if you want to read more about me:
Candidate Statement
Three years ago one of my contacts on Twitter asked me along to help out with a social media surgery in Sheffield for the RSA. The breadth of experience of the fellows and the innovative thinking really struck a chord with me. Making a difference in society is one of my core beliefs and sharing knowledge with others can make a big impact on the communities in which we live.
I have worked in the digital industry over 16 years. I was on the original team that set up ASDA’s online shopping website and went on to help develop one of Yorkshire’s leading digital marketing agencies. For the past 10 years I have run my own consultancy.
The power of the internet has been a key aspect in growing my business. Everything from online communities, LinkedIn, blogging, Skype (and others) have always played an important part in the way my team works and we always look out for innovative uses of the next technology.
I’d like to play a more active role in the RSA and the Fellowship Council feels like a natural step forward. My goal is to use the skills I have developed in growing my companies to drive online collaboration, communication and resources within Yorkshire.
If we want a more joined-up RSA it has to be led by the Fellows and using online tools and new technologies is a crucial aspect in accelerating that process.
I have been an active member of the Digital Engagement Group for the past 2 years and am the Yorkshire Digital Champion as well as a Yorkshire Committee member. I am the former West Yorkshire Chair of the Institute of Directors and a board member at Yorkshire Dance. If you’d like a more engaged, better connected RSA Fellowship, please vote for me.
Over the next few months the RSAde Group will be consolidating regional social networks and nings.
The aim will be to improve connectivity for Fellows, improve communication and reduce fragmentation.
If you would like further information on these changes please contact the RSAde team via the Digital Engagement group on this network.
