Linking With Youth

This is a group to discuss and make progress on the proposal for a fellowship-led youth linking initiative.Mobilising the FRSA to link, in a structured way, with young people in order to provide information, advice, guidance and support. The broad outline is to build a network of young people, and tap into existing networks, creating an active link, both live and online, between young people and the FRSA.The motivation and focus for bringing these groups together is to:  1). develop a structured…See More

Profile information
I have an “obsession" with communication. I love learning (and teaching) about powerful ways we can communicate with ourselves and with others. So that we can be even more connected, happier and useful.

When I was a kid I used to dream about being three things; an actor, a priest and a teacher. I never gave up that dream.

I'm passionate about making youth support services more accessible, relevant and useful. Years ago I designed, developed and delivered community projects which trained young people labelled "hard to reach" to engage, train, mentor and coach their peers.

I then co-founded the Youth Coaching Academy- Life Coaching for and by young people in 2001. Which took the simple idea of life coaching for and by young people across the world. I co-wrote, designed and trained on the world’s first fully accredited Youth Coaching Courses and helped to inspire a whole new field of coaching and personal development.

Christmas day 2006 I married the most beautiful woman in the world, nine months later (and one year after we met.. to the day) she gave birth the greatest son we could ever wish for. Those two bundles of joy have helped me attracted so much abundance in to my life and even more love in my heart. Lavelyjubbly.

In 2007 I left the YCA and started my own consultancy ingeniously named bobsingha.com and since then I've been having a great time "pretending" to know lots and lots about coaching, mentoring, leadership, personal development, youth engagement, communication and psychology.

It's amazing to work with people who I respect, admire, trust and learn from everyday. I would love to hear your story and perhaps explore how we could add value to each other. Please get in touch and lets create a win win.

RSA Animate - The Big Erase

For those die-hard RSA Animate fans, here's a little glimpse at what we like to do after all that hard work. That's Andrew 'never knowingly-not-wearing-a-stripey-top' Park - the illustrator extraordinaire behind the RSA Animate images. For all those who've asked about prints and PDFs - they are available to download and buy on Cognitive Media's website. Cognitivemedia.co.uk

How Much Is Enough?

Robert and Edward Skidelsky argue that wealth is not an end in itself but a means to the achievement and maintenance of a 'good life', and that our economy should be organised to reflect this fact.

Connectome: How the brain’s wiring makes us who we are

Rising star in the field of neuroscience Sebastian Seung argues that our identity lies not in our genes but in the connections between our brain cells – and he describes the monumental task of mapping these “connectomes”, neuron by neuron, synapse by synapse.
